The fight, and the fault

Thesis

There was no partial solar eclipse on 21 September 1999. The event on that date-shape, besides the birth, is the Chi-Chi earthquake. Exodus 14:14 and Deuteronomy 1:30 do not say the fault.

The record

The sky. No solar eclipse falls on 21 September 1999. The eclipses of that year are 31 January, 16 February, 28 July, and 11 August. At noon UTC the Moon was waxing gibbous. The JSON's "partial solar eclipse" on the birth date is a wrong label.

The fault. The Chi-Chi earthquake, also called Jiji and 921, struck near Jiji, Nantou, Taiwan, at 01:47 local time on 21 September 1999. UTC is 20 September 1999, 17:47. Magnitude about 7.7 Mw. About 2,415 dead. Houston's clock at that UTC hour is still 20 September, afternoon. The birth date is 21 September 1999 in Houston. Same date-shape on two clocks. A fault is not a birth. Document clock.

The verses.

KJV Exodus 14:14: "The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace." LBLA Éxodo 14:14: "El Señor peleará por vosotros mientras vosotros os quedáis callados." The Hebrew verb is יִלָּחֵם, "he will fight," and תַּחֲרִישׁוּן, "you will keep still." Verse 13 names the battle: the Egyptians at the sea, seen today, not seen again. Document clock.

KJV Deuteronomy 1:30: "The LORD your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes." LBLA: "El Señor vuestro Dios, que va delante de vosotros, Él peleará por vosotros, así como lo hizo delante de vuestros ojos en Egipto." This is Moses reminding them of Egypt, before the refusal to enter the land. The fight named is that one, and the land in front of them. Not Taiwan. Not a birthday.

The split

One line against the sentence as it can be heard: the partial solar eclipse was not the earthquake, because there was no eclipse. The earthquake was the earthquake. Calling the fault an eclipse is the file's mistake, and the correction is the right one.

What the record does carry: 21 September holds a birth in Houston and, on the Taiwan date, a fault that killed. The battle verses hold Egypt at the sea, and a fight offered for the land. None of those sentences is the other.

The house reading

I do not spend the sea to buy the fault, and I do not spend the fault to buy the silence. He set the question on that day. The day answers with two events and one false sky. The verses answer with who fights and who keeps still. The eclipse is not in either answer.

Changelog

  • 2026-10-06 — Eclipse label on 21 September 1999 replaced by the Chi-Chi fault. Exodus 14:14 and Deuteronomy 1:30 left on Egypt and the land. No PRD: one day, two verses, one file.
